As recognized by the Declaration of Independence that has guided the United States of America for 250 years, every individual has been granted certain unalienable rights by our Creator. Thus, legitimate governments are organized to protect those rights and, in doing so, uphold the dignity and liberty of the individual.

Consequently, our Republican political philosophy, rooted in the classical liberal tradition, stands on a conviction that has produced the most successful self-government experiment in human history: that people, left free to order their own lives, to speak their minds, to worship as their conscience dictates, and to enjoy the fruits of their honest labor, will flourish – and such flourishing will build the communities, the commerce, and the civilization necessary for prosperity.

Believing that all just authority derives from the consent of the governed, government is neither the enemy nor the master of the people. Rather, it is their servant – bound by law, limited in scope, and accountable to those it serves.

Though the ideas we champion are not new, they were based on Judeo-Christian precepts, refined in the crucible of the Enlightenment, tested in the fires of revolution, and inscribed in the founding documents of the United States of America.

In celebrating this 250th Anniversary of our nation, we seek only to protect these ideas and ensure that our principles endure. Watch in the weeks to come as we feature these foundational principles and why they are still relevant to each of us today:

  • Liberty
  • The Rule of Law
  • Private Property
  • Economic Freedom
  • Republican Government
  • Individual Rights
  • Personal Virtue
  • Civic Virtue & Participation
  • Limited Government & Separation of Powers

As we highlight America’s foundational principles, we ask all to join us in embracing them, defending them, and passing them on to our children.
