TN GOP Chairman Chris Devaney stepping down
State Executive Committee for District 11 Bobby Wood announced today that State Chairman Chris Devaney will be stepping down as Chairman of theTN GOP Party effective Saturday April 11. The State Executive Committee will hold a special election that date, to elect a new Party Chairman. A regular Executive Committee meeting was already scheduled for the 11th.
Chairman Devaney is the longest serving, and one of the most effective Chairman of our State Party. Under his leadership Tennessee has become a solidly Republican state. His latest initiative, the Red to the Roots Campaign concentrated on electing capable Republicans starting at the local level and extending to the White
House. He is leaving the State Party in an excellent financial position and already has the Statesman’s Dinner fundraiser underway with Presidential contender Jeb Bush booked as the key note speaker.
Chris’ leadership will be greatly missed. The search will now begin for another equally successful leader.
