Keynote Speaker will be former Member of Congress Artur Davis.
In 2012, Davis formally joined the Republican Party, and served as an active surrogate for the party and the Romney for President campaign; including a Prime Time Speaking spot at the RNC.
Artur Davis, an honors graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Law School, began his career in public service as a highly successful federal prosecutor, winning convictions in nearly 100 percent of his cases. He represented the 7th District of Alabama for eight years in the United States House of Representatives, from 2003 to 2010, where he earned recognition as an independent minded, conservative Democrat who regularly broke ranks with his party on economic, social and national security issues. At the same time, he was regarded as an accomplished and successful legislator, who was named one of the 10 Outstanding Congressmen by Esquire Magazine in 2008 and was a repeat winner of the Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Enterprise Award. In 2010, after an unsuccessful race for the governorship of Alabama, Davis relocated to Virginia and entered the private sector, where he currently serves on the board of directors of Huntingdon Ingalls Industries. In 2012, Davis formally joined the Republican Party, and served as an active surrogate for the party and the Romney for President campaign. He continues to be a much sought after speaker, runs his own blog analyzing public issues, and has been published in leading conservative journals, including National Review and Commentary.
